ELECROTHERAPY
- Galvanisation.
It is a procedure which uses direct current for therapeutic aims. It dilates the blood vessels, which contributes to the better tissue nutrition and stimulates muscular tone. The massage can be applied also as a painkiller in neuralgia and joint degeneration.
- Ionophoresis.
It is an electrotherapeutic procedure which aims to equip tissues with medication ion. The procedure action depends on the properties of medication inserted.
It acts in the following cases:
Scars and cicatricial contractures,
Inflammatory state of skin, soft tissues, small joints and tendon sheath,
Neuralgia, sciatic neuralgia and headaches,
Incomplete synostosis, oedema and allergies,
Vasomotor disorders,
Sudecks syndrome,
Pain states.
- Diadynamic currents.
The currents act as painkillers, as they increase the pain threshold. After applying the method, pain decreases, because its intensity cannot produce such a sense.
The currents contribute to the dilation of blood vessels, which results in better blood supply. It is of great importance especially when it comes to the treatment of post-traumatic oedema, trophic disorders and peripheral tissue blood supply. The use of particular DD current elements can heal pain states in cases of spine degeneration changes and discopathy.
- Electrostimulation.
It is a procedure which uses impulse current so that muscles and nerves are stimulated to cramp. It is applied mainly in the treatment of paralysis paresis, atrophy and muscle strength reduction. It improves the muscle nutricious processes and isometric muscle exercises.
- Interference currents.
They are the result of two currents overlapping in the tissues.
Aims for interference currents application:
analgestic action,
sceletal muscles cramps,
reaction to the autonomic nervous system (deep vessels hyperaemia, increased flow in lymphatic vessels, toning action, circulatory vessels wall tone,
improvement in nutritious processes and tissue metabolism.
- Tens.
It is a stimulation of nerves through the skin. The procedure is applied in the symptomatic treatment of chronic and severe pains. It acts as a painkiller and takes effect in the treatment of:
postoperative pains,
dyscopathy,
headaches and migraines,
osteoporotic and rheumatic pains,
neuropathy.
